Money Exchange:
Euros and dollars are practically accepted everywhere. However it is better to have some Sols with you,specially for small expenditures and transactions.There are many money exchanges on the streets,but it is preferable to exchange in an exchange office.
Credit Cards:
Visa,Mastercard,American Express and Diners are accepted in most restaurants,hotels and other providers of services. EC cards: there are Moneyautomats(ATM Automated Teller Machine) in all big cities and tourist destinations.Here you can withdraw money with your EC cards and PIN numbers, as well as with your credit cards. Pay attention to the symbols such as "Cirr" and "Maesto" from the master card family on the ATM.These symbols can also be found on your EC cards of your banks. The user fees will be determined by the individual banking institutions and are variable.

Taxis in Lima:
The taxis in Lima have no taxameter. Therefore it is advisable to negociate the fare before the trip. For those tourists who do not know the city well, it is better to call for a taxi or take a taxi directly in front of the hotels.
Taxis in Cusco:
Here we advise you to travel with the taxis. There are sufficient taxis. Besides ,the trip in the city costs only 2 sol(to airport 3 Sol). After 10 PM it costs 3 Sol.
Public Transportations:
The buses are valuable means of transport .However, there are no fixed timetables or routes.This system is difficult for newcomers.
Telephone:
For international calls: 00 + country code. One can use telephone cards or coins in a public phone. The code for Peru from abroad is = +51, for Lima +1, for Cusco +84. Cellular Phone:
In Peru you can use your own celluar phone to receive or send messages, as long it is a Triband 1900. TIM is Peru's main supplier(GSM) which has contracts with all German Mobile Wireless
Airport Tax:
For in-country flights US$5. For international flights US$ 28. Attention: this fee is not included in the price of the ticket.It must be paid before the flights in the air port.
Flight Confirmation:
Flights should be confirmed 48 hours before in-country flights and 72 hours before international flights.
Time Zones:
In winter 6 hours before mid European zone,in summer 7 hours before,because in Peru there is no daylight saving time in summer.(18:00 hour in MEZ is equal to 12:00 hours in Peru, in winther 13:00 hour)
