A significant archeological place of discovery of civilization, like Machu Picchu, the tour to Choquequirao is very impressive and unique for those who like to hike at the foot of snow-covered mountains, pass over high altitudes and walk down to deep valleys and for those who like to share the mystics and the life style of the Andes people.
The hiking route to Choquequirao is still a less well known and less travelled path for the tourists. It conveys to the visitor the feeling of connection of himself and the nature. For this reason, Choquequirao will one day become a favorite trekking destination in the near future.
Excursion to Choquequirao Peru
(5 Days / 4 Nights)
1st Day: Trekking tour operator, trek to Choquequirao, Hiking Choquequirao Cusco Peru

Our tour starts with a 4 hours trip in a small bus from Cusco to Cachora, arriving at about 10 PM. There we will spend the first night in a tent.
2nd Day: Trekking tour operator, trek to Choquequirao, Hiking Choquequirao Cusco Peru

The day starts with breakfast at 6am. At 7am we begin the climb. During this time we learn about the life in the Andes. We hike to the foot of the mountain Apu Padrayoc (5480mt).
We pass several villages like La Colmena and Capuliyoc. We then arrive after a long climb to a viewing point, from which we can admire the Canyon of Rio Apurimac.
From here we climb a demanding path in the direction of Chiquisca, where the viewer can see he specific vegetation of the region. After another hour of downhill hike, we arrive at the shore of the river Apurimac. Here we erect our camp base and have our supper.

The day begins at 6 o'clock. After a sumptuous breakfast, we hike to the holy city of Choquequirao. It is a climb through a vast vegetation. Along the path we will find a brandy factory, which we will visit at the invitation of the owner. We may even take a sip of this or that.
After a short climb we arrive at another viewing point which offers a marvelous view of the Holy Mountains of Choquequirao. Our path leads us further to our next camping ground Raqaypata (2910mt). From here it is only 20 minutes to the Inca city of Choquequirao, which we will visit the following day.

Our group wakes up around 6am. After breakfast at about 7am we begin sightseeing of the holy Inca City Choquequirao.
After the tour around the remais of Choquequirao, we return to the shore of the river Rosalina or Chiquiskafor lunch. The zone near the river is also full of sightseeing attractions. At around 4pm we stop for siesta, before heading for supper at the end of the day.

Around 7am, we leave our camping ground and begin the return trip to Cachora. After a local lunch a small bus will bring back to Cusco.
Optional: in good weather we can also visit the hot springs of Conoc, which is only 10 minutes from our route.
