Many travelers extend their stay in Lima for a few days, in order to overcome the jetlag and to visit many attractions which the city offers.
One should discover in the historical center its old houses, its impressive cloisters and churches, its pre Columbian remains, its many museums and squares. Lima, the "City of the Kings", conveys the impression that time passes quickly.
The attractions of the city include the Cathedral, built in 1535, an impressive cathedral of great dimensions, Santo Domingo ,the oldest cloister of Lima, San Francisco Church, built in 1542, the main square with its "Angel of Fama", Plaza San Martin, inaugurated in 1921,with its bronze statue in the center, as well as University San Marcos.
All these attractions and many more like the gold museum, Plaza de Armas with their many shops and restaurants, the night life, the beach, etc. justify an extension of this "Stopover".
